Our Congo Umoja is a tremendous light roast with a surprisingly rich entire body and notes of lime, chocolate, and blackberry jam. We are stoked to work with Mighty Peace Coffee to offer this fully women-produced, organic, and fair-trade coffee!
Umoja means “solidarity” in Swahili. The SOPACDI Cooperative, where Umoja is produced, relies on solidarity to help provide stability in the coffee sector in a region often fraught with coffee smuggling. For many members, coffee is a crucial income source that allows rights for marginalized groups, community strength, and financial independence.
